Triumph Integrated Systems Business Unit (headquartered in West Hartford, CT) generates $1.1B of revenue for Triumph Group Inc., and employs approximately 3,000 employees. The Company's key products and services include Hydraulic, mechanical and electromechanical Actuation systems, hydraulic pumps and motors, electronic engine controls, gear boxes, transmissions, and thermal management solutions for both, OE and aftermarket / spares end markets. The Integrated Systems Business unit is organized into five (5) Operating Companies (OpCo's) for the markets and products served. The OpCo's include Actuation and Controls, Electronic and Controls, Fluid Power and Actuation, Geared Solutions and Mechanical Solutions.

The Controller for the Windsor site will serve as a core member of the Mechanical Solutions functional finance and site management team with responsibility for all aspects of accounting and finance in support of the overall business plans and strategic direction. Acting as a strategic partner to the OpCo Director of Finance, the Windsor Controller will play a vital role in driving the business's transformation plan and create a strong foundation for long-term growth and success.

The Windsor Controller will report directly to the Director of Finance of the Mechanical Solutions Operating Company and have oversite to the accounting staff which consists of 3 direct reports.

Responsibilities

* As a member of the site management team, drive the achievement sales, operational and financial objectives; making recommendations to strategically and functionally enhance financial performance; improve programs/systems and operating policies.
* Partner with the site management team to provide timely and accurate analysis, insights and recommendations to achieve the Sites financial and non-financial objectives.
* Manage staff and oversee daily activities of the accounting group to ensure proper reporting of financials.
* Coordinate and perform the financial closing process and reporting for all monthly, quarterly and year-end requirements. Activities include but are not limited to journal entries, account reconciliations, COGS and SG & A expense analysis, HFM input and Corporate tax reporting.
* Ensure compliance with SOX, internal controls and GAAP requirements.
* Preparation of monthly forecasts and the Annual Operating Plan accompanied with all necessary supporting documentation and justification.
* Lead the preparation of all required regulatory reporting including compliance with government cost accounting regulations as required for the Site.
* Partner with the Site management team to develop, implement and improve financial and operational policies and procedures to drive best-in-class practices and processes.
* Liaise with external auditors and financial advisors as required.
* Manage and develop a high-performing accounting team, providing coaching and development to enhance skills and functional efficiency and effectiveness.

Qualifications

* Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or Business-related field is required; MBA and/or CPA/CMA are preferred.
* Minimum of 10 years of increasing levels of responsibility and a proven track record of growth and achievement in Accounting & Finance within the Manufacturing sector, Aerospace or Defense industry is preferred. Experience in big 4 public auditing is preferred.
* Minimum of 5-year experience leading the finance function for a minimum of a $50M annual revenue manufacturing business.
* A strong understanding of operational accounting metrics required to drive change and improve the bottom line is required.
* Strong work ethic and a \"roll up your sleeves\" approach to the position.
* Experience in government cost accounting and public accounting are required.
* Demonstrated track record of delivering results acting as a strategic business partner in a highly matrix environment is required.
* Experience driving Six Sigma/Lean within the accounting and finance function is required. Prior experience analyzing business operations to drive change by implementing automations and best practices is preferred.
* Mergers and acquisition experience is beneficial.
